Honestly, don't waste your money on them. I bought them from crutchfield scratch and dent (they were just opened boxed) for $250.... Way over priced. Get a good pair of 6x9's like another brand for like 100 bucks and if you want bass toss a 10 inch box in single sub in the back like I did. I got a 4 channel amp ran 1 channel paired to the front and the other paired to the sub sounds perfect. Would have sounded the same without the 250 cost!!!

I bought the speakers you guys are talking about I think they sound pretty damned good all things considered. They are plug and play. I mainly bought these because I didn't want to rewire, cut, splice etc. You can turn volume all the way and not a crackle. They have a pretty good amount of base.

Yeah but if you buy any pair of speakers all you do is use a harness and there isn't any splicing just stick the wire ends of the harness to the new speakers and the plug end into the factor part of the car just like the rear hatch. Everyone's different if I could go back in time I would have spent that extra cash on led interior lights

I agree. I like them. Maybe there are cheaper alternatives, but these work and work well.

I put the 690's in the front doors and holy cow are they night and day better than the factory. I wouldnt recommend even replacing the rear doors or lift gate unless you're amplifying the system and summing the channels. As far as I can tell they don't get a full range signal, which is common nowadays.
The soundstage gets much louder and cleaner the harder it's pushed with the Focals. I'm very, very impressed.
For those of you on the fence about a $250 component set, don't be. The thing everyone on here is missing about just throwing in a $100setof 6x9's is, first off these speakers have a built in basket/housing to retain sound quality. If all you're doing is drilling holes in the door to throw a 6x9 with the back of the speaker exposed into the expanse of the door, you're losing 40-50% of your sound and especially the midrange bass, which is about all a 6x9 is good for anyway.
Here's a couple pics I took in the install, along with a teaser of the sub box I built. One of these days I'll hit 15 posts so I can start some threads for y'all...

What are the 690's did u have to splice? So u just did doors left dash speakers stock? No splicing... its the IS-690TOY set from focal. They're a drop in fit. It replaces the door woofer and the tweeter in the dash. It comes with all the harness plugs you could ever want. Just plug on the one that fits your year and bolt them up! It's that easy... and they sound great. I can go full volume with no noticeable (by my ears) distortion.

No, I considered it. But these 6x9 woofers aren't gonna have the excursion on bass notes like a 6.5" would so there won't be as many weird vibes and rattles. If I had amplified the doors too, I probly would have put something in there.

FYI your not gonna get the full use out of these or any good component set without extra power. get a pair of focal 6x5s for the rear doors and a 4channel amp and welcome to good clean sound. add another amp and a sub and now you have complete sound. at this point disconnect the hatch speakers they aren't necessary

I am in the same situation. I have a 2015 limited with JBL and I am trying to figure out if the Focal IS will work in the front. Crutchfield says that only the IC works on the JBL system, but they don't say why. I need better highs.
With the LE JBL you guys owe it to yourselves to try filtering the front doors before going down expensive rabbit holes. The highs are there. They’re being drowned out by the front door speakers. Check out oem plus. They have plug & play in-line door filters.
