Windshield Wiper Transmission Link Install
so my wipers were shot. when i would turn on the wipers, a bunch of clanking and a whole lot of NOT wiping would occur.
I removed the linkage before I decided to do a mini write up, but removal is exactly reversed step of the install.

There is only one part you need to salvage from the old linkage, that is this connect piece. It hooks up to the wiper motor and drives the transmission link.

Unfold the link so that it is as long as possible. Should be completely stretched out. When facing the front of your T4R, this end should be on your left. (passenger side.) This is the end you will slip in the "shoot" on the drivers side, and push towards the passenger side to hook up to the wiper motor.

You will want to partially remove the dust boot/cover to expose the joint housing.

Next, you will need to press the ball portion of the connector peice into this joint housing.
I am sure some may be able to muscle it in, but for those that prefer the "work smart, not hard" method, I used some simple tools laying around the garage.

A c clamp, a large nut, and a 14mm short socket.

There is a distinct difference between the front and back of the joint housing. The back has a "lip" that goes all the way around. I placed the bolt on that side, it caught and hooked nicely to keep from moving much.
You will want to use the socket head because there is some sort of rounded riveted head right where you need to press the ball in.

It went in with little effort.

Once that is on, slide the linkage down the shoot starting at the drivers side. The connector peice you just pressed on, should lead.
Where you have removed the wiper motor already to disconnect this linkage, is right where you will feed the connector to.
Re-bolt the connector piece to the back of the wiper motor and then bolt up the motor. The nut to the motor uses a 12mm socket or wrench.

This part is the hardest part of the whole install, and yet it is still simple. YOu will need to finagle the mounting heads a bit to line up with the three holes. Once they are lined, up just re-bolt. It is super easy. The heads pivot 360 degrees so you should not have to spend too much time getting this right. There is a left and a right mount. be sure to do one at a time.

Plug your motor back in.

Test it out.
