foglight mounts on 97 SR5

I have a 97 SR5, which does not have factory foglights. It has a standard bumper. Looking for suggestions and pictures for mounting foglights or auxiliary driving lights. I want to put them somewhere on the bumper assembly, not too low and not too obtrusive.

Also looking for specific suggestions for clear spotlights for regular nighttime driving. The technology is changing pretty fast so a lot of the older threads are no longer relevant. Thanks!

There should be a hole in the bumper on each side where the factory fog mount would have been. Just google "4Runner fog lights" and go to images. Look at all the pictures. Some just use that hole in the bumper to mount them.

There are not any holes for fog lights in my bumper. It is a blank slate. Before I go cutting holes or drilling into the bumper, I was hoping to see how other guys smarter than me did it.

I put these hella 450s on using an existing hole in the bumper. Had to bend it outward a little to clear but worked OK.

I picked up the Rigid 50481 Dually DOT approved fogs and mounted them in my stock bumper for $154. The width and definition of the beam pattern is crazy. Yes, they area little pricey but for the quality and the fact they are actually DOT approved and LEGAL to run on the road it is worth it.

To mount them I used some old garage door L brackets that I had laying around.

First I unbolted the frame ends. To mount the bracket I bolted the dually to the bracket and held it up to the frame end so that it was close to the bumper on the top and marked where the bolt needed to be on the bracket. The old bolt was just a bit too big to fit through the bracket w/o modification. So a quick pass with a step bit and I was back in business. Bolted it all back on and aimed the lights to be fairly close.

After this I took the lower valence and tilted it up into place and just eyeballed where I needed to make cuts to clear the light and lower bracket.

Those Rigid lights look great! I have to park on the street sometimes so I want something that won't attract too much attention. The narrow band and sharp cutoff are confidence-inspiring.

The beam pattern looks great, how did you do your wiring and a switch?

I just had some big lighting expenses on the 5th gen and I'm a bit jealous so I might pull the trigger on this set.
