I've been using Yakima racks since the mid-80's or so ... like a previous poster, at one point I sold both (and received a discounted price on both, so that didn't influence my decision) and chose Yakima's. I've never regretted the decision. I've been through several set's ... from the original towers, the original attempt at gutterless mounts (using a strap that ran the length of the crossbar, man was that noisy), all the way to today's mounts ... with cargo boxes, various bike mounts and ski/snowboard mounts. I'm currently running lowrider mounts and 58" crossbars with a big powderhound and an Rocketbox. I'll be looking at Skybox 18 to replace the very old Rocketbox soon ....

Anyway, I would heartily recommend Yakima's ...

Yakima customer service is much better than Thule. I'm not saying you will need it, but when you do. ....
