Frame Trimming

I recently upgraded my suspension and tires and see that there is some rubbing against the frame and the plastic wheel well with extreme turning. I have the Overland Warehouse 2.5 inch Radflo HD coilover shock kit (3" lift) with their adjustable UCAs and am running the stock 17 inch Trail Edition rims with Goodyear Duratrac 285/70/R17 tires and 1.5 inch Spidertrax spacers. I will be having the frame trimmed a little today to eliminate the rubbing. I am posting this not as a complaint, but to let anybody who wishes to do the same modifications know that it will require this additional step:wow:.

You're rubbing against the frame? Its normal to rub against the liner, I'm running stock UCA's, 285/70/17 Duratracs, spidertrax on 17x8 -10 Konigs and I'm only rubbing on my front bumper at full lock.

Trimmed my cab mount. No big deal. Your spidertrax spacers are probably the reason you are hitting the cab mount though.

I posted this mainly to let people know about the additional trouble/expense involved in this particular set of modifications--it got trimmed and welded today--not a big deal, really--but something you may wish to prepare for or choose a different combination of components. I didn't want to switch the wheels so I could see right off that spacers were needed for the larger tires or they would rub on the UCAs/etc. I could have kept the stock UCAs, but the lift did create some caster problems that needed adjusting. Now that it is done, I am very happy with this combination. The ride height, ride feel, and handling are vastly superior with this combo than stock. The prior nose dive is gone--now I will need to see if it returns when I put on the winch bumper and sliders--this should all be correctable with minor adjustments (if indicated).
