I hate to be a PIA, but a more 'top down' shot with the driver door open. Your last photo in the post is close but I just want to make sure it will be good enough for a step. I am not expecting running board stability but do want to see how much they really extend with the door open.

Also, wanted to confirm these are the supersliders, correct?

Thanks for the picks so far. If you get the chance, could we get a pick of how close the sliders are to the lowers panels?
Just looking at what type of clearance we have .

They are Supersliders. The Rockrails just ride underneath the rocker panel, no round slider rail.

Looks like I will be trimming my skirts to get the Shrockworks to fit. Might wait for BudBuilt to come out with his version.

From the pictures, I'm guessing that these sliders will not be to practical for use as a step. They may be able to function as a step to a limited extent, but I would think that without some sort of non-slip coating, footing in wet/snowy conditions may be an issue. Even with a non-slip coating, it looks like "toe" grip" is about all you'll really have.

They are some good looking sliders though.

slider pics

Sorry, very busy weekend. I'll try to get a few pics soon. I work late today and am on-call, maybe tomorrow. If you're wondering if it can be used as a step then the answer is NO. I can barely get a toe on. I think if several people sent Glenn a quick email requesting a slight mod to bring them out more to be used as a step he might be willing. I only spoke to him on email and he seemed cool but whenever I asked about making the slider have a dual fx of rock rail and step he would reply about other things. I'll bet he'd do it if enough people requested. The sliders look great and are very tough and positioned well to work as rock rails. I'm putting my lift on soon and will try to do more pics then as well. Please email him requested steps (through the website)

They are some good looking sliders though.

Winter shoes, not practical as a step. Summer shoes, maybe. I never considered them as a step platform; opening the door seems so much easier and safer with a wider and flatter footing to use if you need to put things on the roof.

I am wanting to trim my rocker panels but am scared I will f_ck em up...wish there was a bolt-on option for the panels and other trim areas, aftermarket for us LE and SR5 owners...

Snoop, these are bolt-on and do NOT require any trimming.
Here's a couple of pics, I didn't have a tape measure on me. I'll add more later and try to take a shot underneath showing ground clearance.

So....I pulled the trigger and ordered a set for my SR5 the other day! Very happy that I will be able to installed and not modify the rocker panel. After the install I am going to take them to a local shop and we are going to come up with a 'temp step mod' for them. I do not want to weld anything on, but with a wife in her 2nd trimester she does need a step, so I figure we can come up with some kind of clamp system to go around the rail with a custom step, have to get one for each side to match. Then I can remove after April and have a nice sleek look again! I will post pick after the install, then again after step mod.

Have you received your sliders? Did you come up with a step mod? I'd like to sell my OEM steps for sliders. I don't think my steps will make it through the backcountry next summer.

I ordered them on the 24th of November, they are about a 1 to 2 week build time....then the ship time to your location. If all goes well they should ship at the end of this week at the latest so I could have them sometime the following week. I am not in a 'rush' to get them so if it takes a little longer that is fine. I would rather they take their time and make a quality product then try to rush it out the door just I can have it in my hands (I did tell them that). I have a couple of ideas for mounting, all in my mind for now though. I would like something like the FJ steps:

But not bolted on, like theirs do. I would like it to be a 'clamp' system. I will take it to the local welder I use when I get them installed so we can brainstorm. Something like this (2 per step)

Something that can be attached securely, not mark up the sliders, and easily removable. Simple, right?

I will provide updates as I move forward!

The beauty of this mod is (hopefully) the simple on/off application. Essentially I could run them on the 4R to the edge of a trail, hop out, a few turns of a large allen wrench and I am back to the stock sliders in less than a few minutes.
