Thanks! Very fortunate to be alive and in good condition, for the most part - and especially for how bad the wreck was. As far as the box, well that's a surprise
but it's contents are fairly comprehensive and should work out well for a little bit of go fast in the dirt.

Found her in San Diego. Been scouring craigslist for quite some time, as I had a couple months of free time after the accident. Finally got to a point where I could go test drive and buy and had a white '99 I had my eye on. Was going to go down to look at that one, but work schedule kept me away. 2 days later this fine Autumn Blaze Runner popped up and a few days later I drove 3.5 hours, after getting 4 hours sleep from working 9 10+ hour days in a row...and she was mine.

Hmmmm...maybe that's a good name for her, "Serendipity"..

Looks like this chapter has come to an end. Head on with a drunk driver at approximately 70mph. I got away with a cracked sternum, multiple deep contusions. Can not believe that's all that I came away with.

BTW - Looking for a '99 now; 4wd / V6..

I know I don't belong in this part of the forum, I come from the 4th gen section, but I know exactly how you feel because I have a similar story.

I searched for months for my first 4runner- 2006 v8 limited 4wd 124k (with 0 rust!) *dream truck* only to have it do about 7 cartwheels at 60+mph 3 months and less than 1000 miles later https://www.copart.com/lot/18568677/. We walked away with very minor injuries ( I only had a few deep bruises) but I was so upset about my truck and wondering why the universe took it away from me and what I did to deserve this (I wasn't even driving). Like you, I started looking immediately for another 4runner and after months of searching I found my unicorn (perfect down to the color- 2008 v8 limited 4wd, I think every option except the rear air suspension controls, 1 owner and only 38k! I was also able to get a 5 year warranty on everything but wear items and it even came with everything the first owners drove off the lot with. It is like a time capsule!) and everything made sense.

Glad you are ok and have found a new truck already and hopefully you get a decent payout from the accident.

geez man, just read through you thread. That was a bad crash and unfortunately. You hear about accidents like that in our area. Glad you got out of that ok. Love the color of the new 4R. Looking forward to some updates on the 4R.

I started reading your thread and thought, awesome another enthusiast like the rest of us--- investing time and dedication in an awesome truck.... THEN BAM! I TRULY FELT SICK FOR YOU! A truly heart rending wreck! I'm so relieved you made it out relatively unscathed. I hope you're recovered now, and I hope the emotional scars will heal, and allow you to jump in that new JEM you've acquired, without anxiety!

I love that colour! I've never seen this colour live, only on here, and of course Dirtco--- a total work of art!!
