Front axle seal leaking. Please help!!

Hey Paraord, what part fails every 2 years? Boots? Just curious. I used reman'd OEM axles from the dealer. I kept my OEMs to re-grease and reboot to have on hand for the next time. Hopefully it'll be a while. Next time I'm going to try your method. You ever "pound" in the axles like that FJ video on youtube?

They start to leak grease almost immediately due to crappy clamps. Knowing that, I replace NAPA wimpy clamps with some plumbers clamps before I even install, they worked great for me in the past and no leaks any more.
Then boots starting to crack around 2 year mark. I just looked under 4Runner after winter and sure enough, one boot split and second one will be split soon. This is seems to be their weakest point. NAPA lifetime warranty means just that, you will be replacing them for life, and you will do this often :nod:

I didn't seen the video but I do pound them lightly with rubber mallet, you need to be very careful getting them in, as it is easy to damage the mentioned seal. After you take them out/in several times it becomes second nature, soon I will be able to swap axles on my coffee break

LOL. I felt the process was so cumbersome and don't look forward to the next time due to that. Good to know I ought to go faster, but then it sounds like yours never has an opportunity to develop stuck nuts or bolts, etc.
