front bumper removal ('02)

Does anyone know how to remove the front bumper on an '02?

Disconnect the turn signals, take out the bolts. Its that simple.

Wasn't trying to be a smart ass there. If you look behind the bumper it is very easy to see what needs to be undone. Even the factory service manual doesn't bother to describe bumper removal, it just provides a picture, which is here. Hope this helps.

Front Bumper Diagram-Have one for a 2008 ?

I really found your manual diagram helpful and wondered if anyone might have the same front bumper & front fender(L) diagram for a 2008 4Runner/SR5. Tagged a parking pole backing out and broke the bumper bracket and splash guard, and bent the bumper backwards leaving a kink or two. Have OEM parts to replace, yet it is not all there for me to see the original configuration, plus the little black pop-rivets are different for the bumper and for the inner fender well/splash guard and they give me a bit of trouble on removal(break-em & buy new ones ?)

How many bolts did u end up taking out of the bumper to get it to come off?

there should be six bolts, 4 on the frame rail brackets and two under your turn signals, I would hit those with some type of pb blaster beforehand. I ended up ripping those two side ones off permanently.

What did you end up doing to replace these? I doused mine in PB and it snapped pretty much putting a wrench on it.

Sorry for old thread revivial. I used zip-ties, but plan to fab up some sort of L-bracket. They twisted and bent and eventually broke when I removed mine, too.
