Ok i know someone will have a simply anwser for this. I have an 2008 4runner and the front bumper has 2 holes for a license plate. So i bought one but A the license plate doesnt line up with the holes and there is nothing to screw the plate into anyhow. Its like i am missing something. Is there some type of bracket that i need to go get from toyota? Or another site that sells it cheap??? I just seems like something connects into those holes and thats what my plate goes on.....

I had the same problem when I tried to install my license plate frame. There may be a bracket but instead I just centered the plate on the frame holder on the vehicle and was able to screw some new holes...

I think thats what i am missing a frame holder. My front end only has 2 holes in the front. Nothing for me to attach the plate to.

That looks about right. So i am going to ignore the current holes and make my own. Only thing i hate about that is it is going to put holes other then ones that are there right into the bumper rather then to some attachment that fits there. Just for the hell of it i am gonna stop by the dealership and ask.

Notice in the TSB there are dimples in the front bumper, so you're not randomly drilling holes in the bumper. If you reach under and feel behind those dimples, you'll find a "tube" molded into the backside of the bumper that gives the screws something to bite into. I picked a drill bit that was small enough to fit into that tube and drilled a through hole before installing the front plate.

FWIW, I tried to find an adapter bracket, but had no luck. Some posts (search function) suggest that others have.

Yea exactly what you said is what i did. I felt behind there and find like anchor type things and saw very hard to see dimple in the front of it.

What I wanna know is are there any OEM Looking lower grill piece I can replace the stock one, so I don't have to look at those 2 holes?
