Front plate question

I have a pewter plate that I want to attach to the front of my 4Runner, but as other people have mentioned on here before the holes do not line up. I drilled a couple of new holes in the plate so that it would fit, but now I wonder if the two little plastic brackets on the 4Runner are substantial enough to support a solid pewter plate. Any thoughts?

Thought I'd give this a bump.

On the back of the bumper you could always use large washers to distribute the weight. I'm not sure if the holes are accessible though but figured I'd throw out an idea.

Use stainless nuts and bolts (with large washers behind) and you should be OK if you bolt right through the holes.

I have a pewter plate on the front. I used the same anti-theft screws (from AutoZone or PepBoys) that I used on my license plate. I simply put a washer & threaded nut on the back side. Not only does it support the plate, but it is held firmly in place with zero rattle.

I did search, and usually do before asking a new question. I actually saw that thread, but it didn't really answer my specific question...
