EXCUSE ME?!? That's about the most insulting thing I've ever received from being in business for nearly 20 years. Heims are import, and really , they all are. ALL the machining is done right here, in house in the USA, Colorado to be specific. In house means less expensive IF you know what you're doing. :mad2:

This is correct. If you care about NVH, you want a bushing on at at least one end. I have found Urethane to be a good middle ground between rubber and heims (at least in the common density that Urethane can be found in).

I've had a few FROR products in the past.... and I live in CO as well. They have great products and great customer service. I haven't used them since I built my crawler over ten years ago which is long gone but I assure you guys this is a legit company.

Ok, just figured I'd ask. I'm all about some of the stuff I heard. When are the lca's coming out? Stoked about you guys becoming a vendor, maybe I just missed it.

This. I've never considered my rear links to be a weak link, my LCA's on the other hand ...

But I was referring to the "front". Have you seen FROR 4Runner with their custom front UCA and LCA. Looks very very strong for IFS.

I should've clarified, when I say "LCA", I usually mean front LCA's.

Not to diverge from the original topic, but I'm curious...are heim joints suitable for a daily driver application? Without a boot, I would imagine the bearing in the joint to be contaminated with dirt/water and lead to early failure.

Maintenance is the name of the game. It's really no different from having a uniball upper control arm.

Unless you are wiping these down everyday, dirt/water is still going to get in.

I'm just curious if anyone has real world experience using these type of joints (or uniballs) long term. Eg. Winter use with salt and other crap. They're not exactly cheap so it would suck if they start developing play and you have to replace every couple years.

Salt, dirt, sand, and anything else will eat up the race in a heim joint. Most races on good heim are self lubricating, but I'm not sure on these. Just from looking at the picture these look like they have a Nylon PTFE race, but it could also be Teflon.

You can add boots to them to keep the crap out. You should be able to find them for them for under $30. You can also use Triflow Uniball lube to help clean them out.

We've got 2 years on our test vehicle. Never lubed, only pressure washed, in Colorado. Other parts of the country are certainly worse for excessive road sale that seems to digest everything. Ours ends were all recently removed and checked, everything tight as they day they went in. Part of what helps it the joints are all with the bolt horizontal. This lets the ball get wiped clean, and not grim just sitting in a cup getting ground around like if the bolt was vertical.

Will they last forever, no. Will a rebuildable, jonny joint type unit last forever, no. Is rebuilding those joints easy after a year on the road, no. The snap ring or threads are corroded, and many times the joint is not rebuildable from corrosion alone. We've use rebuildable joints before, they just dont work as well as it seems like they would. And replacing a heim is easier, and cheaper than a rebuildable joint. These are some of the reasons we chose to use high quality heims over rebuild able joints.

Bumping this. What brand of heims are these? Any group buys on these currently? And for those complaining about the heim on both ends, maybe have an option for a threaded bushing similar to what Ballistic Fab offers?
