That or the Kabo-style ratcheting flex head wrenches work well.
They are offset spline drive, so they may bite into damaged nuts better.

These are my favorite wrenches.. Work great except when they get rusty Then you need 6 point.. (Especially on oil and transmission pan bolts)

When I removed my stock stuff I used my extended gearwrench 14mm.

The box end sticks down a bit.

The wrench arrived and it worked very well. Thank you for the help.
Putting the other nuts on and doing the inner nut first probably also helped.

Safer nut or bolt removal is to heat quench a few times ( if you can safely heat).
While continuously soaking in best penetrating oil (I like Kroil after removing a stuck shotgun inset choke) try tapping with small hammer to vibrate it and assist penetrating oil. If needed, use steel extension to reach then hammer end of extension. Wire brush any exposed threads.
Before wrenching to loosen-try wrenching to tighten a tiny bit. Just a tiny movement helps the penetrating oil.

Yep, the tighten thing is an old farmer’s trick I learned working on old tractors. Also, if the nut has been rounded using a 12 point, say, then using a 6 point to tighten will present different and fresh nut faces to the wrench allowing you to break it loose.
