FS: 1987 4Runner Built DD St. Louis, MO
Located about an hour South of St. Louis, MO.
Looking to sell my 1987 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 SR5. I have owned this vehicle for almost a year and have only put about 1,500 miles on the whole build. Only reason I am selling is due to the fact that I have a baby on the way and need the cash. Specs on the car include:
-211,000 on body and 22re motor, just did new Engine Builder timing chain, guides, oil pump, water pump, water pump housing, timing chain cover, front and rear crank seals, pcv valve and grommet, spark plugs and plug wires, distributor, thermostat, and all new gaskets(valve cover, exhaust manifold, timing cover, etc). New muffler and exhaust piping front muffler back
-Transmission was replaced with another 5 speed out of an 87 that only had 170k miles and a Marlin Crawler short throw shifter was added along with new Aisin clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and seals
-Lifted in the rear with OME leaf springs and shocks and is currently stock in the front with new shocks but I have the OME shocks and torsion bars just haven't had time to install. Also has a 1" Roger Brown body lift installed to help with clearance
-Stock T-case that has new input and rear output seals and is held on by a Budbuilt crossmember built to accomodate the 1" body lift
-Both front and rear diffs have been re-geared to 4.88 gear ratio that were pulled from a 94 4Runner and also an Aussie locker was installed in the rear. Manual hubs were just rebuilt and wheel bearings in the front repacked
-New Redline fluid in both diffs, trans, and t-case
-Rolling on 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer AT3's with roughly 75% tread mounted on brand new FJ steelies(17x7.5)
-New Marlin Crawler V6 brake master cylinder and all new NAPA rotors, calipers, and pads of a 94 V6 4Runner(better stopping power). Also just had the rear drums completely rebuilt with new pads and hardware
-Exterior was primered then rattle canned white and had all the rust removed from the body. Rear fenders cut and rolled, seam sealed, etc. New windshield and gasket also.
-Interior is grey with new headunit that has usb and aux inputs, rubber floor mats, and Tuffy lockable center console with cupholders. Currently does not have any rear seats in it as I had a sleeping platform in the back for camping trips. CB and 12v outlet fed from Blue Seas fuse block mounted in engine bay
-AC was just gone through and converted to R134 and recharged, works very well. Hot heat
Issues that I know of
-Front t-case output seal weeps slowly
-Paint job isn't great but never bothered me as I planned to 4wheel in anyway
-Rear tailgate cover panel is missing as can be seen in pics
-Rear window comes off of the tracks from time to time but is easily put back on
I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of things as I have poured tons of time and money into this thing and have receipts to prove almost everything. Kills me to sell but as we all know family comes over toys. This thing will run 70 mph down the freeway no problem, 4wheel all day on the trail, then get you back home in one piece. I over-built this rig for to be able to wheel hard and be stone cold reliable as all Toyota lovers know. Looking to get $4,200 but willing to negotiate. Feedback welcome on pricing as it can be hard to price these. Clean and clear title in my name. Please call show contact info for more info or any questions.
