Even though I hate to do it... looking at selling the 4Runner to get into a Ford Raptor.

It is dirty in the pics only because I put a deposit on the Raptor and wanted to get it listed. You get the idea of what it'll look like clean, and I can have it washed and take more pics after I get back from traveling for work.

Its NADA value is just under 40k bone stock. With well over 10k of mods into it... I'm not being unreasonable. Also didn't ask for your .02. Thanks tho.

At the beginning of this whole stupid forum thread, [MENTION=44999]HOJeepster[/MENTION] was simply making a playful joke, which I smiled and laughed a little at. I would have done the same thing if it was my runner I was selling. Not a big deal, but [MENTION=102009]T4Ranger[/MENTION] completely overreacted to multiple posts in this thread.

And I completely agree with [MENTION=75445]4Running Daily[/MENTION] , the OP will most likely get $40k or a bit above for his rig. He has every right to ask whatever price he wants, which was the light joke made in the second post. KBB at the top range of the excellent condition for his vehicle stock, lists it as worth $36,653. Also known as the AMAZING tier. Assuming $11k of mods, take half that value, because you only ever get approximately half the value of your mods back unless you part out, and add it to the KBB value of AMAZING. If you can do math, you end up with $42,153. Knock $1k - $2k off of that if he wants to sell it faster and you end up where [MENTION=75445]4Running Daily[/MENTION] was.

Moral. Don't be an a-hole. It's people like you who will make this forum toxic.

You don't know what's going on in his life. How many combat tours he's had. How many of his brothers have been maimed. So you may not care but I do. He's a brother. No I do not work in the auto industry, but most people don't. And most people will value your car with their eyes and not yours. I never claimed I was an expert or had expert numbers or dealership knowledge about appraising vehicles (which overcharge). At least you apologized, kind of.

Modifying a vehicle does not increase its value. Sorry that's just the way it is. Now you may find someone who says "F it" and decides its exactly the mods they would do and buys it for more than NADA. I highly doubt it though.

Your opinion is just that... an opinion. Modifications, just as added options and features would, do always add value (not on NADA), the exact amount of value is up to the buyer.
