FS: 99 SR5 4x4, Lifted,locker. $8,000 KY

99 SR5 4x4, 3.4L 164,000+ miles. Desert Sand Dune Metallic Pearl, equipped with factory locker. It is built to be a great trail rider, however I never have time to go. I don't have to sell, but think it deserves a home that will stretch its legs.

I purchased it May 11, 2013 with 140,400 miles. I am the fourth owner, and from what I recall the car fax is clean. Oil changed around every 5,000 or 6 months with Toyota oil filter and Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic. Tires rotated around every 5,000 or 6 months.
Service records unavailable as I work at a Toyota dealership as an ASM and perform my own repairs, HOWEVER, I can provide receipts of the parts purchase.
Everything works. Cruise, windows, locks, lights, 4 wheel drive, locker, etc. There are some cosmetic faults, which are pictured in the Flickr album I will link below.
The rust seen in the frame images are merely surface rust. A wire brush and some paint will make the frame and components factory fresh. Absolutely zero frame rot.
Two items that need to be done. Timing belt / water pump replacement, and steering rack.

I just performed a pre-purchase inspection for a potention buyer and have found the steering rack has play on the driver side. I wanted to be up-front about my findings.

Also, I will not complete a bill of sale until I have received payment. The potential buyer and myself had agreed upon a price but reached a road block due to myself not wanting to fill out a bill of sale before payment is received.

Why the hesitation? You write or type the bill of sale but don't sign it until payment is confirmed. He should definitely not receive a bill of sale signed by you until you receive payment. But there's no risk in making one and even emailing him an unsigned copy to look over.

But even then, the purchaser still needs a signed over title. Just call your local dmv and get accurate information for your state and relay that to him. You guys should be able to work past that. I just bought mine from a forum member and he emailed me a copy.

When you have been a victim of someone forging your signature, you take zero risk.

I have no doubts the buyer is honest, however I still stay cautious.

Makes sense. So what's the problem? Is he out of state and having the vehicle shipped? If not, and he's coming to get it, then I don't understand why he would ask for a bill of sale until he hands you the payment? And even if it's getting shipped, he still doesn't get a bill of sale until he pays. This guy just not know anything about purchasing a vehicle or purchasing anything for that matter? I mean is he gonna ask the sales clerk for a receipt for groceries before he pays? A receipt comes after the exchange of money. I guess I'm confused as to why this is even an issue affecting the sale.

I'm sure we have different ways of doing things. Won't say anything negative about the buyer, just differences in how we wanted to do it.

I agreed to replace the timing belt / water pump and steering rack with Toyota OE parts at my cost, and requested a deposit. Buyer wanted a bill of sale with deposit. It's something I don't feel comfortable with.

Lol that's ridiculous! Honestly just laughed out loud. If I were you, I wouldn't change any of those things until you got the deposit. You can sell that rig for your asking price without even doing those things. Pretty awesome you agreed to pay for those to be honest. If I were the buyer, I'd put the deposit down to ensure you won't sell to anyone else and as a show of faith for you doing that extra work. We typed up a letter stating what my deposit was for so we both had piece of mind. However, in no situation should a person receive a bill of sale (especially signed by the seller) until the payment is made in full.
