I don't have a tire depth gauge. I bought from Discount Tire and have warranty. They aren't old and look brand new.

My two cents.
Pictures are worth a 1000 words. We've seen that you've been off road so we just want to be sure of the tires' shape and condition. I personally would hate to drive 2 hours and find them worn on one side due to no rotations or big slices in the sidewalls.
You can always use a tape measure to measure the depth or a something straight (insert the straight edge in the tread, mark the straight edge at the top of the tread with pen or pencil and measure distance from end to marked line). Or use a coin like they do on the internet.
Not trying to be a smart ass, but $500 is pretty cheap for "like new" BFGs. Many shops won't install anything over 5 years old so you'd want to provide the mfg date of each. We have no idea what "not old" is. I think many people will jump on this if you provide more info.

I understand your concern but anyone who has been on TTORA, Tacoma World, or Toyota4runner.org for the past 9 years can attest that I am a legitimate seller. I have bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of parts on these forums and don't misrepresent what I am selling.
The simple truth is I wanted to upgrade to 285s and now have no need for these tires. I would rather pass along a good deal on the Toyota forums than to someone on Craigslist.
If you have doubts about the authenticity of my for sale description then move along and let someone else get a smoking deal. Whoever buys these tires will be buying tires exactly as I have described.

You make generic statements about the good quality of the tires, but we would like that quantified in some way. Exactly how good, y'know? The info does not take long to get. A quick picture of a coin in the tread will take but a moment. A quick glance at the manufacture date will take a couple of seconds. You could have probably done those things quicker than it took to write the reply hah. I'm not sure what your aversion is to providing a little bit more info. Do you not research your own purchases?

I'm interested, as I won't be able to get a lift for another half year or so, and in the meantime, I hate the look of the stock road tires. But it's a 300 mile drive for me.

The one item that I'm weary of buying used are tires. My family will be riding on these things so it's important that they be safe for me and them. I don't have the means to mount them, balance them, and so I want to be sure the place I take them to will actually put them on. I go to America's Tire / Discount Tire and they won't install anything older than 5 years or anything with uneven wear.
Like you, I just lifted my truck and actually just bought a second set of used 4th Gen alloy rims for $200 that I'd like to throw either ATs or MTs on and dedicate them to off-highway use. I'd like to get larger tires, either 285/70 or 255/80, but when I saw your offer drop by $100 after posting a price of "$600 Firm" just 2 days before, I thought, maybe I should jump on this. The wife told me to stop spending money on my hobby and so I was going to have to wait on the new tires for a bit. I'm still deciding if I should jump on this, but in the meantime I was hoping to help a fellow T4R member out by helping you possibly sell the tires faster based on research that I have done.
I've been researching, or "trolling" if that's what you call it, tires for quite some time (even before my lift). Pretty much every classified ad I've read here or Craigslist or eBay shows pictures of the mfg date, the tread depth, and pictures of all of the tires. When you first posted your ad, you had one picture of a tire on a wheel but the advertisement said "tires only" so I didn't know if you had already dismounted them or not. With the tire still on the wheel, I didn't know how old the picture was. I looked through your previous posts and saw that you had gone off-road quite a bit and so I tried to see the condition of the tires there too. You didn't note how many tires you were selling and that's why I PMed you about the quantity. You still have only taken a photo of one tire so I don't know the condition of the others but I'm assuming they're all ok.
Anyway, I'm still on the fence but hopefully by providing more clarification to your post, you will sell them faster. I hope to see you on the trail someday. Best regards!
