Update
My first oil and install of the Fumoto was a success! Here are a few observations I had.
1. The oil filter was a MOFO to get off! I tried two different tools, and even wrapped my belt around it. The thing would not budge. I finally broke it loose with a tool from Autozone. It's the kind with the metal band and small handle. It clicks counter clockwise, and the little teeth on the band bite in. I'm sure everyone here has seen one.
2. The threads on the drain plug weren't as long as I expected them to be. So there was some splatter when the plug dropped.
3. The Fumoto F103N does fit under the Elcheapo oval panel. So I'm using it for now. We'll see how long it stays on since its seal has been broken. There were also a ton of small rocks under the plate.
4. I used the blue washer that came with the Fumoto and so far, no leaks!
5. Exactly 5.5 qts. to refill.
I used Mobil1, purchased from Walmart for $20.17 (5qt), plus another single bottle (Can't remember the price). The first thing I noticed when I drove the truck later that night was the idle. It was much smoother, lower, and the motor was more quiet. I don't want to rack up the miles on my truck, but, I can't wait to try the Fumoto on the next change. I'm also hoping for a little better gas mileage. If anybody's on the fence, buy a Fumoto, and use Mobil1. Especially if you plan to keep your truck like I do.
