I know the Traction control in my 06 sport will work in FWD but when in FWD does it only work on the rear or both front and rear.

FWD = Front Wheel Drive

Do you mean Four wheel drive? or 4WD? The ATRAC works on all wheels that are being driven.

If you have V8 4wd, then: ATRAC works on all the wheels all the time, as does VSC (stability control). When you lock the center diff, then VSC turns OFF.

If you have V6 4wd, then: ATRAC works on all the wheels all the time when you are in 4wd. If you're in 2wd mode, then it only works on the rear axle. When you lock the center diff in 4wd, then ATRAC is still there on all wheels but VSC turns OFF.

Hope this helps.

I found that ATRAC works in reverse, too! It's a bit of a strange sensation, but I suppose it might be really useful in some situations, even backing out of a steep/slick driveway.

I suspect that VSC works in reverse, too, but was a littly shy about trying that out in a parking lot with light poles. I'd hate to have to explain that kind of thing to an insurance company.
