I'm a fellow Houston runner, and I'm wondering if that was a kit? Or did you fab that up? Price?
And you have some sweet pics, I'm in the heights and never see any sick runners but there is a lot of tacos!
But yeah if you could maybe help me out if I have the funds for the retro??
Love the write up. I'm the kinda person who needs the extra help. If I ever set aside some headlight money since I gave up on the for now I might just try retrofitting myself with this.
Nice write-up. I've been contemplating this for a while now. Are the lenses in the headlights you got glass or composite?
are the stock reflectors for a 2002 not metal? I could have sworn they were made from metal. if they arent the cutting is going to be a lot easier!

How are yours holding up as far as keeping out the dust?
About a year after doing my FX-Rs with the TYC headlights (not my originals) I noticed a good amount of dust and after examining I decided it is because the dust breathing tube wasn't really doing the job very well. I made extended tubes and put some "cheese cloth" in the tube to stop the dust.
Here is an update I made to mine to fix the dust issue.

I'm not really sure I understand the question.
I pushed the shroud onto the projector bulb as you can see. The projector itself is all the way back. This leaves plenty of room for space between the bulb and glass.
I don't see how it could be done better any other way.
I am in the process of doing a retrofit on factory headlight housings and I am using Morimoto mini h1 projectors. I am curious as to whether or not I need to cut down the lens on the inside where the factory bulb shield was. I probably worded that question kind of weird. If you had a factory headlight lens that had been disassembled and you look at it from the front, in the center where the bulb would come through, there is a raised section that aligned the bulb shield. Does it need to go or can I just mount the projectors with it there? Thanks in advance.
I have done two retrofits using the Mini D2S in the past couple weeks and did not grind anything in the reflector due to the fact that the silicon washer (was attached to the projector in the D2S kits) that sits between the projector and housing has more than enough give in it to allow you to leave those little bumps with no issues. In fact, I believe that leaving them there will add more resistance making the projector less likely to rotate over time from hitting bumps in the road and things of that nature.
