Gas issue

So i've just owned this runner for a couple of weeks. I've filled up twice and both times about 6-10 ounces of gas spills from the top of the gas tank and goes all over the ground? Why would this occur? None of the gas comes out the nozzle.

are you also leaking fuel as you drive with a full tank?

If your not leaking fuel as you drive, try going to another gas station and filling up there. I used to work at a Kroger fuel station, and for some reason every jeep that filled up there had the same issue. It may simply be a issue with the nozzle the station uses.

no, not leaking when driving. Just when I fill up. I need to open up the rear inspection and see if its a faulty gasket.

I was hoping it was a crappy station so I went to a new one and same result, seems to poor off the top of the tank and the filler is on the back on a incline. I only say this because the gas falls down before the rear tire.

It may be coming from the flexible hose that connects the tank to the filler.
Should be easy to check, and looks easy to replace.
