Reason for this mod: safety- need to see better at night. And, she uses my truck once in awhile so, this is an easy sell.

Yes you can use OEM, mine are OEM, glass and housings.

Speaking of Rickashay, has anyone heard from him lately. The last I heard...him and his partner were going to open a shop building headlights, pre-made wiring kits for e-lockers and so on?

Yes to first, you could to second.

The reason to use TYC glass with OEM housings is because the OEM housings feel, and probably are, much better quality. Compared to OEM the TYC's feel thin and rather feeble. I had no issues working with them, however.

If you send me a picture of the back of the headlight I can give you an answer. I'd probably be willing to take a crack at it. IIRC, 06+ had the factory projectors... You just want them upgraded? Or...?

So, after what seemed like the longest 4 hour drive, Alex showed up at my staged and ready 4Runner to upgrade the dreaded lights. I would like to say I installed them :lie: but I'd be lying. In a effort to save me from more pain Alex kindly installed the lights and helped with lining them up correctly. Really, I can't thank him enough, without his help I would have been forced to wait till my back fusion healed and that would have been hell.

To anyone on the fence about this mod, I only can say how amazing it was to drive for the first time at night and actually be able to clearly see EVERYTHING!!!

Get these lights from A.Wilson you will not regret it!
"The great him, and jaketino" both where able to see the work done and I think both are very seriously contemplating the phone call to Alex.

I just priced OEM headlights for a curious user and the cheapest price I could find was $218.87 each from Camelback. Please let me know if you have a cheaper source.. That's a LOT of money.

As it stands...

Complete retrofit with new OEM headlights- $876.36 (Plus shipping back to you)
Complete retrofit with new TYC headlights- $519.14 (Plus shipping back to you)

I work at a Toyota dealership in NM. I can sell them for 200.63. Not much better and no idea what shipping would cost but if I can help a fellow 3rd gen guy out I'm happy to do it.

When you send payment, I order parts immediately and they take almost exactly a week to get here.

Once they're here I take 1-2 days to get them built and shipped back to you. 1 day without paint, 2, maybe 3 with paint.

Hmmm sounds tempting...Thinking about getting the aftermarket plastic headlights... have you guys come across any disadvantages to plastic headlights compared to the OEM glass?

Also I see the 99's and up are considerably cheaper... are the mounting points the same as the 96-98's?

If by, "sounds tempting" you mean that you're tempted to have me build a set, please know that I will absolutely not use anything but OEM or TYC. I cannot afford to deal with an inferior product that may fail during disassembly or assembly, and cause me to eat the price.
