I am wondering if anyone knows where to find gear shift lock device such as on the picture. This company in in Europe and they don't make this for North-American version of 4Runner..

what's this for? Security?

If I was looking for a simple device to defer thiefs, I'd want to defer them before they break into the car. Like a Steering wheel lock. So, they see it and hopefully decide it's not worth their time to struggle with it and leave the car alone with no damage.
A device like this might infuriate the thief and make them cause more damage before they exit the vehicle :)

still this is better than the car gets stolen.. the one that is on the steering wheel would be removed by them in a second..

I've never heard of such a lock, didn't know they made them. Kind of neat, but I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble? Seems like a good car alarm would keep them from messing with the vehicle at all. If the ignition can be defeated, a wheel lock defeated, I would expect they'll find a way around (or through) the shift lock as well.
Maybe you should invest in a wheel boot! J/K

Not sure how helpful that would be on the 4Runner, since the shifter is a giant switch. There's no mechanical linkage to the transmission.
