4.88's will do more than enough justice on your 315 75 16 Duratrac's 05LTD, I've driven my brother's 98 with 4.88's and although on 33's, he's got one of the best and heaviest tires in TOYO M/T, weighing at 75 lbs. each...he's hauling them with nothin' but ease. The truck is back in stock, performance wise.

Your 35" tires according to the Duratrac specs only weighs 64lbs each. not bad for 35's..Just saying with that much less weight you'll be more than satisfied with 4.88's.

Having said that, also take into consideration based on your choices that you'll get armour as well and those are added weights.....but I don't believe they will take much toll on 4.88's.

Its hard to plan what I'm going to add in the future but its much easier to do it right the first time. If each change in gear ratio changed your RPM's roughly 200-300 at say 60mph, that means by going from stock 4.10's to say a 5.29 would increase my RPM's by roughly 1000.

I just don't want to be cruising down the freeway doing 60mph at 3K ya know?

5.29's are nice..a little extra pep but you're right you'll rev up high at low speeds...it won't be tolerable on long trips.

Like most have already said...gears. The main reason being you are already running the 35s.

4.88s work well for me with 315/75-16s.

Also, I know there is a chart floating around with what gears to run for what tires, however, I'm wanting to know is there a ballpark figure for how many RPM's each ratio changes? For example, 4.10 to 4.56, and 4.56 to 4.88, 4.88 to 5.29?
