I'm assisting a friend in bringing a 95 Gen2 back to life after approx 7 years of parked life.
Just installed new CV half axles (all 4 boots on old ones were split and packed with dirt, so I didn't trust that they were worth saving).
When I took the flange off the hub, the driver side had the remains of a gasket (that looks like it might have been original). It was not a whole gasket, just flakes and pieces. The passenger side had nothing.
My question is:
Should I be adding a gasket as I re-assemble, or go forward without it?
If the answer is yes, a gasket is needed... do I need to find the actual replacement gasket (dealer parts department?) or just a use some RTV (black?)
Thanks (in advance) for any help
