geting new shocks(bilsteins)! want a lift! whats best?

ok... i am riding on stock shocks and my mechanic that i work with ( im 18) says my shocks are going out and it might be good to get some... so bilsteins i hear are the best.. are they? whats better? i also want to throw a lift on it... but just got the coils replaced 30k miles ago due to a recall... i have a toyota 4 runner 4 wheel dr. 1996 w/ 200,000 miles on it and i can only get the best for my truck!

so i am asking what the best shocks to get? bilsteins?

thinking about a 2.5or 3 inch spacer lift? once again whats the best option for me?

and would i have to get diff shocks with my lift? or will the bilsteins i am looking at work?

Don't put a single dime into that rig. Talk you parents in to buying you mine for only 22k. She has only recieved the best as well. Less than 40,000 on the clock and in the garage every night.

You do have the right idea - I got new shocks for my old rig then decided to lift it and need to get longer ones. duh . So your on track. See if the lift you want includes shocks and do it all together. Don't think you can go wrong with the Bills.

Avoid spacers and do a real lift. 2.5" lift is the max you should do to avoid problems with the CVs.

I know your rear coils have only 30k but you should replace them when you get new ones up front anyway with your lift.

Billies are nice too and you can get the set for $289 from shox.com

The Bils work best with the Performance Products 1" coils since they are designed to match the Bilsteins and are actually made by H&R Springs in Germany. The coils will set you back $299 but for $600 it's a solid alternative to the OME setup from Slee.
