Getting the most out of my lift???

Hey everyone,

Thus far I have 1.6" H&R springs in the rear of my 93 4wd.

I want to get the most out of this truck without buying a 1000 dollar kit.

Can I run coil spacers in conjunction with my rear springs???

What can I do in the front? swap out torsion bars? would this make for a super harsh ride?

Is there a body lift for the auto trannies?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes to the coil spacers.

Yes there is auto tranny body lifts, anything above 1" you need a tran. extension.

I am putting a kit together to do my 93 when done I will share the details with pics. I will also replace all the body bushings too. ;):

you could crank the torsion bars for about 1-2" lift, but it makes a very stiff ride in the front. Supposedly the larger diameter torsion bars give a little softer ride when they are cranked since their preload isn't as much as a stock cranked lift.

If I crank the torsion bars on my '87, does anything else need to be modified (lengthened, relocated)? Or is it really just that straight forward,...crank and go.

Also, if I were to put 3/4" or 1" spacers under the rear leaf springs to level it all out, would any other changes be necessary? It looks like the brake lines are all plenty long for a 1" lift. The "load sensing" brake line that goes to the axel could easily be shifted up on a simple bracket.
Are any changes in shocks required front or rear?

Are there any other concerns I should have with this?
