Glove Box Shock

06 4Runner..I went to drop my glove box door today. I squeezed the sides, to release the tabs, but noticed there was a shock absorber attached to the right side with a screw. I removed the screw, and the shock absorber fell out. Is this supposed to be connected at the other end? Looks like the barrel end has a plastic bracket molded to it with two bolt holes. I don't see anywhere to attach the barrel end. Am I missing something? Is this supposed to support the door once the tabs are released? Thanks.

Don't stress. It pops back on. The top most hole doesn't get used. The bottom hole attaches with the screw

I guess I am wondering how it functions, if only one end is connected.

Ok..I see another thread with a picture. I understand now. Thanks for your response.
