There's a tab at the top of the glove box that opens up to a "hidden" box inside the box.
And yes, I agree, AWESOME feature. Perfect place to put my, uhh..."medicine"

it's easy to miss as it black on black, but just above your regular glove compartment. Once you open your glove compartment, look at the top section, you should see it.

I keep a Kahr k9 and two spare mags in there. The anti-skid mat solved the problem of the mags unloading themselves. A very weird situation since I only drive on regular smooth roads.

Not true. If the officer has probable cause he can search without your consent.

yes, exactly. which is why you don't give them probable cause

If an officer smells the contraband or they have a k9 hit on the vehicle then the officer can search without your consent. Its not hard for a trained officer to obtain probable cause.

I found a birth certificate in mine when I bought the truck. Good spot for the squares to keep their wallets and stocks and whatnot
. Your average criminal breaking in wont look in there, unless of course he owns a Runner

I've had my vehicles search three times. Twice it was my Corolla search by the Ontario Provincial Police and the last time it was my 4runner searched by US Customs.
I don't mind tell you because on all three accounts I had nothing to hide and my vehicle was clean, as it will remain in the future (my contraband days are over). But I will tell you that every search was pathetic. Even the one where the officer said he "saw marijuana residue in my carpet", the search was nothing more than emptying out my glovebox, center console and trunk.
K9 search is a different story but from my experience they won't bother calling them in unless they really smell pot and come up with nothing on there search. Generally that's just a threat to scare you into admitting where the contraband is.
Since your in law enforcement I don't expect you to agree with me, that's just my experiences. Individual results may vary
