Gobi Ladder Install Gap

A gap in the adhesive on the right-side post install. It bugs me, but it's probably okay? Is this normal?

I tried to tighten the pinch plate a bit, but it only brought the bottom edge in contact...

I am going to say its not normal but that as long as the screw/pinchplate are tight it should be fine. If it really bugs you best bet would be to remove and bend plate. I had to bend my top mounting plate to get it to slide into the body gap (not the same piece but just an fyi)

Mine has similar fitment issues. Are your ladders making a rattling noise over bumps? I have tightened, removed, and replaced but still get annoying rattle.

Gobi Rack laddder

This is the bottom edge of the door, right? I need more photos of the base to really see what's making this gap.

One fix that comes to mind is a shaped shim. I work with wood a lot and it's easy to taper from thin to thick. Consider a hardwood, oiled for sealing with maybe a thin rubber or vinyl layer to protect the body paint. It could work.

Baja Racks now makes a ladder that connects by a different method. I may have a good look at theirs before I buy one.

No noise yet.

Yes, it's the bottom of the door towards the passenger side. The driver's side of the ladder doesn't appear to have any gaps.

In order to get my ladder level, I have a gap at the bottom as well as on the top mounting plate. I just ended up sealing with some sealant. Didn't know if everything should have fit perfect. It definitely would have fit if I didn't have a perfectly level ladder.
