I tried searching and can't find so if I could please get some help from some of you nice fellas. I just recently bought a slightly used Gobi Stealth from a former member( i assume former cause he sold the runner) for a great deal. And it worked out to be picked up on the way back from NJ. Anyway since I got it used, I have no install instructions or anything. Any threads to be pointed towards? Structions sent to me? Appreciate any help. Thanks guys

Call Sandra at GOBI. She should be able to email or fax you the instructions. Or at least the list of hardware. Chances are, you'll need some hardware. At the very least, new gaskets. I imagine some of those parts didn't get to you.

And honestly, their instructions aren't the best in the industry. Lots of descriptions of what to do and very few pictures. And the pictures you do get are drawn primitively.

Thanks Duc. You know where I got the rack? From some forum cat named Oppoz. Said you helped him out a bit. Just picked it up at like 2pm today. Thanks for the quick reply. I know I need the two front replacement sticky pads. Not sure what else.

Thanks guys appreciate the help. Can't wait to get it on. And Okki, I knew I just read a writeup on this that was great but couldn't remember where. Thanks a bunch

excited update

Per Ducmonster I called Sandra and got the instructions that I also received here. Also figured out what was missing. Just got off the phone with Gobi again and have the hardware on the way that was missing, mostly the spacers and a few rubber gaskets. Prolly could have made something work but would rather have the exact thing. So I had to get a $50 bag of stuff and am ok with it givin the deal that I feel like I got. Can't wait to get it on!

This will be my first big "mod" minus the weather tech brand ventshades which isn't really a big mod. Anyway I'll try to get pics up. Can't wait!

Annoyed

So I'm a little annoyed at Gobi at the moment. I ordered my hardware that I need to install the rack and am still waiting for even a confirmation email or tracking number. I ordered Wed at 5 their time and was told that it would be sent out on Thur and would receive email. Fri around 11 est and still hadn't received anything. Emailed them and was assured that it would be sent out that day with email and number to follow. Here it is Sat and I don't have either one. I'm not particularly pleased. Hope that Mon will bring better news. Oh and I have already paid for it.

no worries man.....it will get there. You will have forgotten all about a little wait in a month when someone with 5th gen sees that rack and says "NICE figggin' rack"

Don't forget us nobodies on the forum...we want some good pics when the install is complete;)

I was shocked today when Sandra (I ordered through Mark, Ride) called me this morning to confirm specs on my rack and to make sure they got it right. Now the rack should be shipped this coming week.

I will post pics in my build when I get it.

I am excited to say the least.

I'm not sure I like your tone...you trying to make me jealous that you got a call and I didn't? Na I'm jk. You have probably been waiting much longer than me. But it sucks huge donkey nuts that I have the rack sitting right in front of me and I can't install it.:ybrick:

Sent another email today. Didn't get an answer til end of the day. Glad to hear that it was actually shipped on Fri but they failed to send me an email and get me the tracking info and confirmation. But it's on the way, sucky part is I won't get it til Thursday so may not be able to install the rack for two weeks because I'm leaving for a week to Montana to snowboard. But at least I'll have something to look forward to when I get back

Question?

How is everyone, I recently installed my GOBI rack thanks to INVICTUS and was wondering if any of you guys have small gaps in between roof and mounting hardware. I am OCD about this type of stuff and am going to probably put some silicone in there to seal it better. I know that it is sealed inside with the gaskets and plastic hardware provided but then again just want to hear your guys opinion. Thanks!

Although gobi doesn't recommend using a sealant, I felt like it was a no brainer. I used 3m marine grade silicon on all the rack to vehicle mounting bolts. Coated the threads before running them down and lightly coated and seams.

Pic?

Here is a pic. I went ahead and put some silicone in the small gaps between roof and hardware. Sorry for the not so clean look but it should do its purpose. What you guys think? OVERKILL!
