Gobi rack light install

Hey all,

In the middle of a project and could use some help. I ran wire in my gobi rack last night (they forgot to pre-wire it). I noticed the black rubber plugs no longer fit due to the 16 gauge wire I used. Is there another solution I can use to ensure the holes stay water tight? I as thinking marine grade silicone around the wires coming out and the hole but not sure if that will hold over time.

Thanks!

PS I did search but everyone said cut a hole in the plug. This does not work due to thickness of wire.

Silicone. It’ll hold up. Just check it every year. If any of the plug can still fit that will help. Drilling out the middle of the plug and threading the wire through, then silicone around the wire and plug.

What locations did you install the lights? I have the Gobi and looking to add scene and chase lights. Didn’t know it had channels for cable. I was going to tie the wires to the rack.

Once I get my Gobi rack...I'll post pics once done. Currently have a yakima basket on factory cross bars.
