Gobi roof rack chime in please

I plan on fabricating my own gobi style rack for my own personal use.

I had found measurements online and noticed that in the layout the front half of the rack curves downward.

Can any gobi owners chime in? Are there any other hard mounting points other than the 4 that are already on the roof?

There are indeed only the 4 mounting points already on the roof. Gamiviti suggest adding additional mounting points using rivnuts, that's what I will be doing on my 4Runner. 4Runner Racks — Gamiviti

Looks like Gobi has 4 attachment points plus 2 legs resting against the roof. Seems like a lesser solution in my opinion.

My main question is does the rack have a bit of an angle or is it completely flat?

This diagram seems to say otherwise.

If you are fabricating it yourself why not just make it flat if that is what you want. Maybe I don't understand why you are asking if it curves down.
