You're behind anyway. Having looked at what he's doing, I admire and applaud him - however I think my 35s look better. The 37s are edging too big with that little lift.
Also disappointed he didn't want the Camburg 7" wider vs AP 4". That would have helped his fitment a lot.

Where are you guys getting your TRDP rims? A dealer? And are you ordering them after the fact or when you purchase the vehicle?
I have a deposit down on a 2016 TEP that I'm picking up tomorrow. If I can have them swap up the stock rims, put black 17/7 TRDP's on there, then that would be great (assuming they have them in stock). I honestly never thought to ask. Then I could swap out the tires later.

I have a 16 4Runner TRD pro and I'm wondering if the Mickey Thompson BAJA RADIAL MTZ 285/70/17 will fit in the TRD pro wheels they measure 33" dia w a 11.5 section width and 8.9 tread width. When I check the fitment list the 285/70/17 shows a 32.71 dia, just want to make sure before I invest in tires

Just wanted to say that this thread was really helpful when deciding on what size tires to go with (my first mod of an otherwise stock truck), so thank you!
Also, while the chart shows green for 275/70/17, some of the comments here had me nervous there might be some rubbing. I can happily report that I'm having no rubbing issues at all in my stock '14 Trail with 275/70/17 Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx (and the spare fit underneath). Loving them so far!

5th gen trail and m/t grappler fit

Thinking about buying these tires. 285/70/17 nitto grappler m/t trail. Anyone ever mount these on a stock 2015 trail wheel? Any idea on specifics for fender mods? Thanks so much for any insight, the company won't take the tire back after mount attempts have been made.

Yes, they will fit and you may or may not need to trim. On 3 of the 4 4Runners that I have lifted needed the trimming. All 4 needed the front mudflaps removed.
Any idea on specifics for fender mods?
Front tires, back side of tire.
Pull off the mudflap. There are clips and screws holding it in place.
Front tire, front side of tire.
It is a two step process.
Step one, move the inner liner forward one inch and reattach it. You need a 10mm wrench to break the screws loose, a Phillips screw driver and an ice pick. To see the screws you will need to lie down under the front bumper, looking up and you have remove the two screws, one silver and one black, that you remove to free up the inner liner. Push the inner liner forward one inch and fasten it in place using the above-mentioned tools and screws.
Step two, you need a cut-off saw and masking tape. With the inner fender pushed forward and reattached, you will notice the bumper needs to be trimmed back one inch. Use the masking tape to make a guide line. The rest of the process should be self explanatory.

You can fit those tires on those rims with that lift. But you may need to trim the edge of the bumper and remove the mudflap. See my post in #313

Pretty sure he is talking about rim width. Tire mfgs don't recommend that size on a 7" rim. He can of course mount them but will get no warranty and he assumes liability.

Sorry, I thought the TRD wheels were 7.5".
Well, I just looked and they are 7" and now in my mind, those wheels suck.
I am of the school that you need new wheels.
I figured the Trail got a 7.5" wheel then so should the TRDPro.

This is my concern... but I have seen guys with 285's on the TRDPro wheels but they weren't the BFG Mud Terrain K02's.. but I don't want to buy new wheels.

I was looking at the BFG charts just now. I would say go get the 275/70R17. It actually cheaper too.
I know guys that run widths beyond the mfg. recommendations and they are fine with it. I tried it on my 305s on 7.5" wheels instead of 8". It lasted about a week for me. I did not like it and bought new rims. Others don't mind it. To me the tire felt high in the center. Maybe I am just the Princess and the Pea. But it bothered me.
