What is the biggest tires I can get on a trd pro. I will have the toytec baja 1inch front lift. Also I read the chart, but I think it applies to the sr5 4Runner. Thank you in advance.

Why would you think it only applies to the SR5 when I actually put notes on there about the SR5, TE and LE?
The chart applies to ALL 5th generation 4Runners as they are ALL THE SAME with regards to tire fitment. Same fenders, same body, same brakes, same hubs, same dimensions and everything else that would influence tire size. The chart is applicable to the TRD Pro as well as a LE, TE and SR5. Your 1" lift will not have any bearing on tire fitment. You can fit any tire you want, you just have to choose how much to cut. The chart will show you that 275 is generally the largest size before you start needing to move stuff.
You can't put bigger tires on the TRD Pro because the supercharger gets in the way.

As soon as you get your head wrapped around the fact that the TRD Pro is simply a 4Runner Trail with some shocks and a couple emblems on it you might be amazed at what will fit it. I have yet to see one go faster than a speeding bullet or leap tall buildings in a single bound. :wink2:

Swap factory SR5 Rims and keep stock tires?
Hi all, I'm new to the forum... I just got a new 2015 SR5 4x4
I'm looking to buy the TRD Pro wheels (17" x 7in wide) and keep my factory Dunlop 265 70R17 tires as I have not done much offroading yet and want to wait till they wear out before I upgrade.
My questions are:
1. Will the stock Dunlop tires fit on the TRD Pro wheels? I think the rim width is close to the factory rim width.
2. will the wheel sensors need to be reprogramed if the tires do not change?
Your help is appreciated! And I'm sorry if these are dumb questions.

Should fit the TRD wheels fine and the sensors should not have to be reprogrammed if your moving them from the stock wheels to the new ones. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Is there any real issue when going to the 275/55r20 on the Limiteds that lists in the specs for a 7.5" rim on our 7" rims?

It's out of spec and many tire shops won't mount it. There are certainly those that have done it anyway. Much debate about safety and prudence in a couple threads. Read and make your own decision I guess.

Will going to methods with the specs of 17x8.5 0 offset 4.5" backspace cause any issues if I size up to a 275/70 or a 285/70? I understand that 275s should fit with no issues and the 285s may require minor mods, but I'm not sure how the different offset of the methods compared to the factory trd pro wheels will affect things. Thank you all!

You need to double check what you're asking here. A 275/50/17 is only 28" tall.

hey 4 runner family. what do you think about the bf goodrich stock tires on the 2015 trail's? i have seen some you tube vids where they dont get very good traction. is it just me or do they suck?

Stock tires are chosen to maximize efficiency for the majority of users. That means tires are picked for the 85% of owners who never leave the pavement (my wife), not the 10% who drive on dirt and gravel or the 5% who do serious off-roading. The stock tires are "highway all season".
They will not do good at all in sticky mud because they won't self-clean. Otherwise... it depends on where you will be going.
From personal experience, my stock Dunlops were "adequate" off road, but then I'm coming from a 2WD pickup and I avoid muddy holes. I got stuck a few times in the pickup (once in 1" of slick mud 5 feet from the pavement); I've never been stuck in my 4R. They're shot now, though, and will be replaced with a good set of AT tires. Right now I'm leaning toward Cooper AT3s in the stock size.

I've decided to go with new wheels and tires with my 2012 Limited and have settled on 20" Black Rhino Imperials with Michelin LTX A/T 2s in 275/55/20.
America's Tire lists two options: 20 X9 6-139.70 12 BKMTXX and 20 X9 6-139.70 -12 BKMTXX. The only apparent difference is the offset (+12 vs. -12). Using the tools on this thread, I figured that the +12 would have 5.5" backspace, while the -12 would have 4.5" of backspace, which is what the stock 20x7 wheels have. I'm leaning towards going with the -12 since it will keep the wheel clear of the suspension, but I'm not sure whether that will prevent rubbing since the tires will stick about 1.5" vs. .6" with the +12 offset. Also, www.rimsntires.com recommends only the +12 offset and 5.5" backspace, adding to my confusion. Any help would be appreciated.

0 offset on a 9" wheel should be 4.5". The +12 offset is in mm and would be 7/16" - 1/2" (1" = 24.5mm). So +12 should only make it a 5" backspace. Since the largest backspace offered on the 4R is 4.875" (Trail Wheels), I wouldn't recommend more than that or you may end up with clearance problems on the suspension components instead of rubbing on the fenders. My recommendation would be the -12 offset and just do the little bit of trimming that MAY be needed. The -12 will also fill out your fenders better than the +12 would. Whether trimming is needed will also depend on what size AT2's you are mounting. You didn't specify that.
And mind you this is just a recommendation. A lot of the time we just don't know until we've tried it.
