Good Deal on Used Tires?

Serious question, what's wrong with used wheels? Seems easy enough to inspect for damages, and not much to hide under the surface?

On the internet, everything is wrong. In the real world, nothing.

They're tires. Not much going on. Give me 30 seconds and I'll find a ton of links of brand new tires blowing out. Just because they're used doesn't mean they're going to explode and you're going to die. That's absurd. A little common sense goes a long way.

wheels are harder to stop for defects. hub bent wheels will look fine but you dont know until it is on a balancing machine.

with tires
-you cant hide uneven wear unless its shaved down, then it doesnt matter
-you cant hide it getting driven flat. inside of tire is fuzzy feeling not smooth
-you cant hide punctures
-you cant bubbles, although if you dont know what to look for you can overlook it
-you cant hide the date code stamped on ALL tires Barry's Tire Tech so you know the age of a tire.

wheels
-you cant unless they come to a shop to check for out of round.
-you cant see hairline or know to look for hairline cracks
-you cant check to see if they hold air.
-you dont know if the wheels are bored out correctly
-you really dont know if they will shake on the vehicle or not

just me, unless they real real cheap. dont get me wrong, i'll buy wheels but when i do they get delivered to my shop so i can check for out of round before i pay for them. those are my terms, you want to sell. i need to check
