Durk is spot on with the numbers.

Good amount of items there. My brother has used Mobil Super High Mileage in his Tundra 5VZ and gotten great results with it. If you lose any oil between changes, try the Mobil Super HM. It is a good and rather inexpensive oil to consider using.

Check to see if the rear fill plug has been turned before. Use a 6 point, not 12 point socket, to remove it. Mine had, and I had to buy a new one since someone had bent the snot out of it. I think the part# is 90341-18006. It lists for $4.34.

Always remove the fill plug first before the drain plug for all.

Ohio State fan eh? We will see what Meyer can do this fall.

Each box uses two crush washers--drain and fill. You can reuse them once without any real problem, but at some point they get weak and break.

The rear diff fill plug number is on the list because it is real easy to round off, use a 24mm six-point socket, apply PB Blaster night before, and bang it a few times with a hammer before turning out. Anti-seize on the thread makes it easier the next time.

I agree I totally got screwed on the PCV Valve. Now I know though.

I just bought 6 quarts of Mobil Super 10W-30 (Non-High Mileage). My Runner doesn't burn any oil luckily.

Exactly. The bushing/grommet will eventually crack and break so be careful it doesn't break and drop pieces into your valve train. So rather than yank, I suggest you worry it out. Grommet is 90480-18001 if you want to pre-emptively change. About $5 at dealer, $3 on line. NAPA Echlin CRB 29121 works and is $3.

Awesome! I did happen to notice a bit of moisture around the PCV valve, definitely going to Toyota tomorrow.

Tomorrow I plan on the muffler arriving and then I'll go get it welded on. Should have a sound clip by the end of the day tomorrow.

I know you said you were gonna hold off on the bushings, but you could spend $40 at wheelers offroad and get all new sway bar and steering rack bushings. It is amazing how much more planted the truck feels once you replace those tired old rubber bushings with some poly ones!

Great thread though, you will be very happy you went this way when your truck runs for decades to come.

I agree. I need sway bar bushings/endlinks too. They'll be next.
