Goodbye 5th Gen 2013 BP SR5... Hello Yukon... UPDATED with 25 Photos

Well after 2.5 years and 20 thousand worry free miles my 4Runner will be leaving me. I want to thank each and every one of you for your help. I have enjoyed my SR5 more than one person can imagine. After trying to talk myself into a new Limited with a third row or SR5 with a third row I am going back to GM. :ybrick:

The third row which was becoming a more and more needed feature, along with the need for more room and towing brought me to a cross roads. I will once again be all GM when I pick up my Summit White 2015 GMC Yukon SLE 4WD this coming Saturday between the extra room, power, towing even with th 3.08 rear end it was hard to pass up along with my excellent trade. I have to love 4Runner resale. I might end up with another one someday or another Toyota but after looking at a Sequoia SR5 and Yukon SLE there was no comparison the GMC was the better truck.

This was a case where no matter how much I loved my SR5 another one wasn't in the cards. I hope I have as many worry free miles in my Yukon.

The sad part is the Yukon will probably get better mpg and run circles around the 4runner. My brother in law just bought a new Tahoe and loves it.
 
We have a couple new yukons and tahoes in our fleet. They're pretty badass. Would not be opposed to rocking one

Yep the mpg and overall refinement is pretty good. We have the GMC Denali crew cab truck. It sort of blows my mind how good the mpg is compared to the 4runner, but my 4runner is obviously highly modified to suck fuel...

I have not driven one of the new Yukons yet, but people that have them really seem to like them. They were not out yet when we needed a truck, so I talked my wife into the pickup. She is happy with it..

I hate too say it as well - I know I will. Honestly since all the T4R ever saw was a little snow and I never needed 4L I think the Yukon will be a much better fit for me now. The new Limited's are really nice trucks though, just couldn't use or get to the 3rd row. Honestly I am looking forward to also having a an honest to goodness small block V8 under my right foot too.:lookout:

Glad to hear it. I thought about a new Sierra for a moment and said no I really need the SUV no matter how bad a$$ the new half ton trucks are. I love the Denali but a nearly 70K Yukon was out of my comfort zone, not that I couldn't have gotten one. Just way more than I should spend.
 
We dang near just bought a Tahoe. The initial cost was sort of a hold back for us. The Tahoe coming out to about $70k with the things we wanted on it and the 4Runner being about $40K... I also had a ride home in a tow truck when my car ripped up a tire and the driver was telling me he was towing Yukons and Tahoes all day. Put me off a little. We may still see one in the future after the dust settles on the new Chevys and the hold up well.
 
I worked for GM for 13 years as a master/ASE tech. The GM truck line and SUV line drive awesome!! But. They have their issues. Lots of electrical issues. No where near as reliable as any of toyotas ive had and worked on. The GM dealer i worked at also was a Toyota dealer. I love me some certain GM cars. But I'll be rocking Toyota SUVs. For a while. My opinion though is the Yukon/Tahoe is on a different level than a 4Runner. Much larger and V8 engine. Reason the price difference. I've had a older suburban with a diesel. Loved it. I'd buy one in a heartbeat again if they made them.

I just did the same...and my CNG tahoe is my small car LOL...

Denali is AWD 6.2l beast w/400+ hp and 400+ lbs/tq.

I still loved my 4Runner but 4 kids and it doesn't work for us.

We've only done it twice. Two sets of twins. Some say I'm lucky....but probably cursed. Looks like my T4R will be gone on Thursday.

well the good new is I hear the GM service centers have TVs and free coffee... so at least your family will be entertained while the new hearse is being fixed:yo:
 
Eventually I'll get a Land Cruiser 200 (almost bought one this time), but they don't have captains chairs in it or the sequoia. Getting the crew buckled in without them walking all over everything and it being a total pain in the ass is more important now than what people I've never met on the internet care about me.
