Well..

After much debate...I said the hell with it and did whitewalls out. Gonna powdercoat the rims black and waiting for my TE parts to come in. My Allpro sliders are getting powdercoated as we speak and also waiting for my Gobi Stealth to come in.

I've always been a fan of the 80's. I was a kid in the 80's. I also have a 1969 Dodge Charger and a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, both of which have the whitewalls out b/c I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for all of the opinions! Hope everyone loves/hates them! :banana:

Congrats on the new tires! Either way they look good and much better than stock...you already chose the best color 4Runner.

I ended up going the safe route and got the proven Toytec Ultimate 3" lift/Bilstein 5100s with Light Racing UCAs.

Its great. Very comfortable ride....really not that much different from stock as far as smoothness...just a hair stiffer. No more nose dive. I think its a fantastic setup for the money.

Here is a thread I started debating whether to go with aftermarket UCAs or leave the stock ones. After going with the Light Racing UCAs, I'm glad I did. It just made sense and gave me that much more ability to fine tune the suspension.

Since you chose white out, you are now legally obligated to drive around town with all the windows down and blast your Whitesnake cassette at full volume.
 
hey whats wrong with classic Whitesnake? Ha! and yes I was greatly disappointed when i bought my vehicle and all my cassettes would not slide into that really narrow slot on the radio.....
 
Westley's Bleche White!!! Even if you keep the white in you should be cleaning your tires with this stuff. Spray it on, scrub with a stiff brush, rinse right away. It works wonders, and if your lettering is out it will make it bright as the day you bought the tires, with no effort.

Personally I keep the black in on this particular truck/tire combo (Duratracs.) But I think it depends on the vehicle and the tire. It can be a good look!

A Wink Mirror is 80's, not white lettering...
 
I loved my Wink mirror in my Datsun B210. It was awesome.

My dad had new 1975 Ford Econoline Conversion Van with BFG TA radials with white letters out. I would scrub them white and Armorall those tires. Those were my formative years.
 
Well...decision is done!

Decided I'll be wall'n out! Honestly, these tires were the best decision I ever made. They are so quiet on long highway trips. I can barely tell a difference between these and the stock tires as far as noise. I know a lot of people run them on here and I didn't just want to jump on the bandwagon...but they truly are great tires as far as road comfort and noise. Oh and they are awesome off-roading.

May I also add that Plasti-dip is as great as everyone claims it to be. Stuff is so easy to work with. Had several people out in public ask where I got my rims painted/powdercoated.

I'm waiting for my 2014 white TE to come in. I think duratracs with white out will look good with white truck;)

This first pic with roof rack delete actually looks really cool. Adding those sliders and removing the factory side skirts made your lift look much higher.

I think you need a rugged/aggressive looking truck to pull off white walls and you did a good job.

Thanks! I've had the roof rack delete for awhile now waiting to get a Gobi rack. I've enjoyed the clean non-chrome roof rack look.

And you are right...removing the factory skirts did make it look MUCH higher than it actually is....especially looking from the side. My only complaint is that its not a clean look when you remove those skirts. There are corners/plastic retainers that are now exposed and do not look clean. It would be really nice for someone to sell a replacement piece that attaches where the factory skirts were.....but is super low profile just like the trail edition piece. So for those people that don't want to shell out $2000 for plastic fenders, they could fill in the ugly parts that were originally masked by the skirts. The factory skirts come down way too low. I think once I get my TE parts in, I'll have a buddy of mine who deals with plastic injection moulding possibly come up with a part that can be replaced...once you remove the factory skirt.

Shrockworks sells a TE type trim kit for $270.

Also what do you have your front set to? How high?
