Got a 86 4Runner. Long time T4R lurker

Hey everyone! Stoked to finally be able to post here! I've been a long time T4R lurker. I'm from Calgary, Canada. Just bought an 86 4runner from California and flew down to pick it up and drove it home. Quite the journey but the runner did great! Pic below. Gonna be starting a build thread shortly under the classic 4runner section! Cheers! :wave: ChaseR9

Welcome! Please don't cover up that classic paint job ...there's a part of me that still loves that look.
 
Welcome. It was smart to read and learn before you bought it.

Build thread? What are your plans? IMO a slightly tweaked original 4Runner will bring more money in the future than one with a bunch of dubious mods. I would have to have aluminum wheels and 10-31 tires. Study tire weights if you care about MPG's.

It looks like your are missing the driver's side amber light. I got clear corners and bumper lights from eBay a while back. You could also get OEM style there or RockAuto.

It would be great to see some interior pix. Is it an SR5? Mine's a DLX but has chrome bumpers.

Hey [MENTION=53465]Nervo19[/MENTION] I did start a build thread with some pictures, check it out ::D:. I neglected putting up interior pics as I only have a 50mm lens for my camera and it has only one set frame which is too zoomed for taking interior pics. Once my brother gets back to town from work I'll see about using one of his lenses to get some interior pics up! Mod wise I am going to be keeping it clean and simple. Once I've got all the maintenance out of the way and replaced the driver corner lens/light I'd like to do a small lift (Probably OME) and run some 33's either on SCS F5 wheels or some Toyota 4Runner 5 spoke wheels. I also would like to do sliders, bikini top, and possibly an ARB air locker. The 4runner is a DLX with automatic trans. Thanks for the tips on where to find corner lights! I think I found one today for 20$ from a local junk yard!
