Got a LCD remote start installed!

Hey,

I decided to go ahead and take the plunge and got a remote start installed. Its a galaxy LCD remote start and it works great.

The only bad thing about it is that I lost the power down feature of my old remote. It would work for a while and then the back window would short out. Its annoying, but i'm going to get a second opinion and see if I can get this to work.

The remote is awesome. I can start it in my apartment and check the status of the car. It will tell me if its locked or unlocked, if its on or off, etc... Its really nice here in the Midwest where its always freezing cold.

Congratulation on your new starter. I installed mine some time ago and I love it...Every time I go somewhere I start it 10 minutes before until interior is warm enough....... Guy who installed it was able to add rear window power down feature under "option" button and it works fine so You should be able to make it work.

Mine also shows interior temperature. You are right..It is awesome...Remote doesn't look really nice but I have to live with it...this is how it looks like

I had a guy install it that was recomended by Toyota. Unfortunately it was an awful installation process. A 4 hour installation turned into a 3 day process.

I get the impression that the guy just gave up on the back window. Thats why I am looking into it more. After day 1 of the installation the remote worked fine and the window powered down.

He actually promised me that he could make the back window power up, but that did not work out. He got it to power up, but then the window shorted out. After he fixed it he said that the window could not work with the remote b/c it will keep shorting out.

I don't buy it, so i'm researching it a little more. I think he just got tired of working on it.

Who installed your remote start? I might call them and find out what they did.

Also, did you keep the beeps when you lock and unlock your 4Runner? Thats one thing I lost that I miss a lot.

arouth - Your remote looks nice though. A little more classy than krosno3's. Does yours display the temp like krosno3's? That would be a really sweet feature.

Mine said the same thing but since he have not done it before he said he would need some time to figure it out and he's to busy right now to do it.But he promised me that he will look into that in the summer.


Who installed your remote start? I might call them and find out what they did.

It was my friend's friend. He did that in his garage so it was a little cheaper..


Also, did you keep the beeps when you lock and unlock your 4Runner? Thats one thing I lost that I miss a lot.


To be honest I didn't like that beep so it is gone.

You are right..Your looks better but I think You have the same crappy car on LCD screen as I do Mine 4R is Titanium so remote color much it and I like it. I've seen nicer remotes but they are pricey so I will stick with this one.

You can get that alarm for 130$ + shipping on ebay....+ 20$ for bypass and rest of it is for installation..When I called around for best price they offered me 425 + tax for the same alarm...So it was a good deal...

My remote start is a galaxy remote start. I'm not to sure what the exact title is. It cost $355.00 total.

It doesn't show temperature though, and I have the same crappy car on it
