Got a pair of HIR (#9011 high beam) lights.

That was just a tease. I'll have the pics up either later tonight or tomorrow night. I ordered a pair of the Toshiba (#9011, 65w high beam) from the one seller on ebay who is selling the real-deal HIR lights. I spent about 1.5 minutes with the Dremel tool, modifying the bulb housing to fit in the LB socket, the same thing I've been doing with the SS's that I've been using.

I have 1 HIR in now, and it looks great. If these last longer than SS - and they are supposed to - then I'll be happy as hell to get this much more lighting for a reasonable cost ($56 for the pair, total, shipped).

Seem brighter then a Halogen? How well do they light up the road?

Yeah, they are definitely brighter than halogen. And a little whiter too, but not as white as the blue-coated bulbs.

I currently have one 65w HIR and one 55w OEM in my 4R, so I'll take the comparison pics tonight and post them. If I feel motivated enough, I'll put back in the 65w SS that I have too and compare that one to the HIR as well.

But if I can't find a plowed parking lot or a wall without snow/ice on it tonight, that won't happen.

Ebay. The same guy has been selling them for a long time. Search under "Toshiba" and "HIR" and you'll find them.
