Got me some new tires toyo mt's.

Well as you folks know that I had recently bought me some 265/75/16 nitto terra grapplers for my runner. Let me tell you guys that these tires were awesome in the rain and also out on the trails. The only reason why I wanted to change my tires is because on some runs they required you to have 33's and I did not want to get 285/75/16 because the size seem a bit to wide for me. So instead I went for toyo open country mt 255/85/16 these tires are tall! Since they are mt's they don't seem to skinny because of the side lugz. I can't wait to try them out this weekend. Will post pictures of the tires and write about my impressions of my new tires.

I had the 35" toyo MT's on my old truck and I loved them. Surprisingly quiet for a mud tire.

So far I love my tires, they are not that loud for an mt. The real test would come this weekend, can't wait to try them out.

I hear great things about these tires, and I like the size you went with. I am actually putting 255/80/17 BFG MT KM2's on my truck tomorrow.

When I get home I would post some pictures up. Blairb I also like these tire size, they are very tall compare to my old tires. Would also like to see some pictures of the new km2's on your runner. Also I know you have the old km, can you give a comparison of both tires when you get them. My brother in-law has an 07 runner and he is going to be modding pretty soon. I told him to check out toyota120 also for alot of good tips and information.

Just one thing to mention, the KM's have now been discontinued. I actually was only in need of two tires since two of mine have a ton of life left (slashed some of my other KM's while off roading, so these were much newer) but since I get my tires directly from BFG through a friend I had to upsize and switch to KM2's as they do not stock their discontinued models.

If your brother is interested in KM 255/75's I would get them sooner rather than later as they becoming harder to find. Also, I will have two tires with a lot of tread left- if he is interested, left me know.

Nice choice....Mine I have it for two years and I'm happy with the perfomance on road and offroad.

Sorry to bring up an old thread BUT these 255/85s look unreal!!! By far my favorite 4runner yet, ProudRunner. I have to get a lift. Is the 1" body lift needed or will the 3" spacer kit be plenty to run them (I'm sure this has been discussed - sorry). Would you guys recommend the spacer kit with the diff drop or no diff drop from toytech? I can't afford the ultimate kit or the Sonoran Steel....

His truck is georgeous in person as well. I wheel with him pretty often and have the 285/75's. The last trip I was rubbing a lot but dont think he rubbed much at all since he has the 1" body lift. I am going ot be getting the 1" body lift to help with rubbing issues and my next set will be the 255/85's.
