that is a really good price. not sure how good that red dot scope is, but even if it were not on the weapon, it is a good price. scope is probably fine for plinking or messing around. If i didn't have one already, I would probably be buying that. bushmaster is a decent brand. if anyone buys this and needs/wants both front and rear flip up sights, i have some that would fit on picatinny rail system. Troy industry battlesights. they are nice.

i have yet to see a better price than that. don't wait too long! usually, i am seeing them for about 899, without the red dot sight. so to take 200 off that and include a red dot? that is insanely cheap.

If you're just going to plink with it then I'd say go ahead, but if you actually care that your weapon works when you need it to and adheres to the TDP and is built correctly (i.e. mil spec etc) then don't waste your money. You'll thank me later!

i believe that is a milspec weapon. it is chambered for both .223 and 5.56. I do not think bushmaster makes any of their rifles that are NOT milspec. I would agree, though. if you are looking for something that is going to be a work rifle (i.e., use it in your job) or you are a competition shooter, there are better rifles on the market. If looking for a "fun gun" or you are not that serious, its not a bad price. I have two bushmaster .223/5.56 at work: one is about 10 years old and have had zero problems with it and can keep a half dollar size group at 100 yds (irons). the newer ones (3yrs) we have are a little problematic. I think bushmaster's quality has decreased some over the last few years, as have other manufactuers. I believe it is due to the demand. companies are cranking these things out fast to keep up and I think it is hurting the overall quality.

I stand corrected. My apologies. I was looking at a different model. The bushmaster CAR15 is NOT completely mil spec. that being said, depending on how much you are shooting and what you are using it for, it may be fine.

Bushy's are crap. They lack a lot of important features but most paramount of them all is that they don't MP inspect their bolts and barrels for cracks and they are clueless when it comes to proper gas key staking.

I realize that I just lost 99% of you...but trust me, I've built AR's on the side for a few years and learned that when you're considering a factory gun there's only a handful of folks that build one that I'd be willing to bet my life on...Colt, LMT, BCM, Noveske, Larue, and maybe a few others....but it's a short list and Bushmaster, Rock River Arms, S&W, DPMS, Armalite, and a bunch of other "big names" in the industry don't make the cut.
