Just watched this at the IMAX in Virginia, Dulles AIRBUS. The screen is 6 stories high.

Apollo 11. Movie was amazing, like traveling back in time. It comes out this week, was an early showing. There is no voice over or opinions, it is only real footage and audio, most of it 70mm restored. It looks amazing in true IMAX and the 70mm shines. You have never seen anything like it, I can guarantee that.

BTW the style of documentary is very very similar to another really good documentary called "LA 92" (Netflix / Hulu) and by that I mean that it is a chronological docu film with only original footage of the real event spliced together in a very well done way.

Seriously, that film should be required viewing for every 5th or 6th grader in this country. Given the despicable cowards that fill our airwaves and news cycles today, understanding who true hero’s and pioneers were is sorely needed. To think of the countless man hours and long days by the thousands of supporting engineers, scientists, managers that went into all the hundreds of engineering efforts in navigation, controls, propulsion, etc, etc etc and for each to have failed, redesign, retest, fail again, etc for years leading up to that is absolutely awesome. There are amazing lessons to be learned. And yet sadly, useless trash movies like John Wick will be seen by 1000 people for every 1 that sees this.

Ummmm John Wick I is not useless trash. It's actually a great action movie with excellent fight scenes and a singular tight plot. I thought the second movie was extremely unneeded though.

Clearly plenty of people agree with me in this completely subjective opinion since it's still kicking ass in ratings years later.

I'm a fan of a lot of different genres and somewhat visual snob not that I've gone OLED and 4K. I have everything in my collection my small disc collection from Nolan films, to the works of Sergio Leone, historical movies, comedies and yes some action films. To me calling John Wick trash is like calling True Lies trash. Yes it's not Ben Hur but come down from your high horse friend.

Also, FYI if anyone else is interested in a *great* B movie action horror flick go see/rent OVERLORD. It was a lot of fun and much better than I expected.

I picked John Wick off the top of my head. Point being, there are hundreds of useless films available on any number of distribution methods (look at the Sharknado trash then as 1 small example) that will get more attention and be viewed by more young people than Apollo 11. Ask an 18 year old what they know about about Freddy Kruger and they’ll talk for 30 min. Ask about Apollo 11 and they’ll likely be clueless.

We watched Wreck It Ralph 2. I thought it was good, a bit slow in the middle but still more fun than the average kids movie.

We watched Blackkklansman. I thought it was a great film. While I'm only half woke I thought this movie was very well done and quite entertaining.

Just saw Christopher Robin. I used to love Pooh stories. This movie was good IMHO. Brings back some of the memories of growing up.
