Grey or painted bumper/fenders on an '03 Sport?

I'm negotiating on an '03 Sport, sight unseen, good price. Originally purchased 06/'03, did the later '03s all have painted fenders and bumpers? I haven't even seen pics, but I'm flying out to buy it tomorrow if all goes well.

Thanks. I know what the painted and unpainted fenders & bumpers look like, I thought there was some point where the painted became standard on Sport Edition in '03.

Why don't you just request the seller to send you some pictures?

2003 had the grey cladding...however mid-year aka 2003.5 the cladding was body color.

My friend has a 2003.5...but in my eyes, it's a 2004.

The owner is in Florida, the truck is in Pennsylvania, I'm in Michigan. He's decided not to bring the 4R down unless it doesn't sell, kind of complicated, but works to my advantage. He just emailed me, grey fenders, I'm good with that.

it might just be cheaper to replace the gray panels if need be, (scratched, dented, etc.) than to have painted ones fixed or replaced.

Fenders have not done well in my divided garage with bikes and such. I'm thinking the gray might hold up better, but they'll be harder to make perfect if they do get scratched up. I like the painted for looks, gray for practicality. If I put a bull-bar on it the gray will add to the toughness.

dont wanna rain on your parade but i F'ed mine off roading i scraped the crap outta of it on a rock and it wouldnt have needed replace but the snaps broke off that held it to car. so i had to drop 700 for just the driver side door not driver side second door just the driver door!!! it was only scratched a little but since the snaps broke it had to be replaced. but it does protect against door dings. and yea mine is super Tuff!!!
