Lots are coming from TOYOTA 4RUNNER Replacement Switches -Air On Board

They are restocking Blue/Blue on/off witches, but the have other colors if desired....

Word of warning. I have these switches and there is no doubt they are low quality. First, they are all produced by ch4x4 and come from a china. Second, the packaging doesn't identify the color so you have to test everything to make sure it's right. Third, the on/off action is not reliable. Often times they are resistant to switching on. Finally, the LED that comes on when you wire it to the lights (not the on/off light) is terrible and off center.

I tried 4 of them and 2 had problems. One of them wouldn't even light up.

On a side note I have a 44 inch bar and a very slick 13 inch bar that I will mount in the hood grill of my trail. With them installed I will have 4 auxiliary lights.

The good news is ch4x4 makes some cool inscriptions. I am going to install a red "Dark Side" switch with Vadar for the 44 inch bar.

I don't know about the switches being made by ch4x4, they may or may not.
The covers aren't shaped the same.
The AOB's look more like OEM than the ch4x4's.
The packaging from AOB clearly identifies what wire is designated for each circuit. I looked at the wires from ch4x4, maybe that's the ones you are referring to, they have 2 red leads.
I have been using switches from AOB for some time and not had any issues like you describe, maybe I just got some good ones.

Man, that's really clean. I just ordered a 30" rigid Radiance light bar and need to have Demello make tabs for it. I want it to sit flush with the trimmed grill. I dont pick up my rig until Friday, where is everyone getting their interior switches?

thanks man! I got my switches from AOB like [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] said. I have had zero issues with them like the follow up post, and it is a direct swap with the OEM fakeplate. Color was marked and the switches are easy to wire up.

Just a heads up here. The CH4x4 switches are exactly the same as the AOB as far as I can tell. The difference is that the AOB switches come in a small ziplock bag with a marker designating what color the are supposed to be. Hard to believe I know. The CH4x4 switches have the same harness and come in a legitimate product package, notable WITHOUT a color designation.

If these aren't the same product they would have to be made at the same factory.

I also discovered when installing another switch this weekend that if you jam the switches against the mounting plate you can make them work a little easier. In other words, the two small latches may not have been pushed ALL the way in for me on the switch that was giving me trouble.

Are the CH4X4 Switch covers made with a very small radius like the AOB switches? From photos I've see and read here by others, they are not.
The AOB switch cover radiuses are almost identical to the OEM switches.

Is the harness equipped with 2 red leads on the CH4X4 switch package?
The photos on their site indicates they do, the AOB harness does not.

Doesn't matter to me, just posting what differences I have observed on their site and the forum.

Can you post a photo showing the switches you have in hand with the harness?

I will take a pick for you tomorrow. If it were me, go with AOB despite the bootleg packaging and computer printed wiring diagram. I can't say any more than they appear to be exactly the same. I have about 6 unmounted switches so I will show them as well.

Of course the best switch I intend to use is a darth vadar "dark side lights" switch that is red. I will use it to power the roof light bar if I can find out what size bar and mounts folks are using for a 5th gen 4Runner. I started a thread about it.

Here they are. I couldn't get a good photo of them lit up at night because the blue one is pretty bright. Two are AOB and one is CH4x4. The wiring harnesses are identical.

These are IDENTICAL hardware.

As requested I took the best pictures of my light bar mounts. Nothing pretty but works great.

Easier to get at the mounting points that I used by removing the upper part of the grill.

The place I used to bolt the light bar to using the factory spot that I took the two original bolts out of.

What I used to drop it Down to the height I liked. 1" square stock.

OPT7, 32" Spot/Flood Combo? That's what I have.

The bracket is 4.5" tall from the top of the aluminum crossmember. The OPT7-supplied lightbar supports add the needed 1.5" to get this to the proper height in the grille area (totals the 6" you see). The picture with the tape measure is from middle of left footplate to middle of right footplate, and is 33.5" which is where I drilled the holes to mount the OPT7-supplied rubber foot pieces.

I was cruising kijiji today for 4R parts like normal and I came across this 4R and I'm wondering if anyone knows what light bar ( seems like a combo rigid) and mounting kit is on this truck? Think it looks pretty solid....

Looks really good man! Nice subtle touch. Contemplating whether I should have gone with midnight black instead of white for my 5G...:nerd: I was planning to the the same but ended up going with Pelfreybilt...:nerd:
