Grillguard Recommendations

Hey shaggy,

Hope i'm not too late to the party here.

Took a few pics of my aries to give you an idea of what it'd look like on a mag gray trail.

I got it for 369 with free shipping from autoanything. they had a 30 dollar off coupon at the time.

in regards to the arb/shrockworks bumpers. i would love to get my hands on one but for the majority of drivers i honestly think its over kill. down the road i'd like to get a budbuilt winch plate and run a winch but thats a far ways down.

I've had my buddy who's a 260lbs football player yank and jump on the grille guard and its done fine and stayed solid. its also come in handy down town as people don't seem to be able to parallel park without nailing other peoples bumpers lol.

whatever you end up going with good luck.

Looks great. Had mine installed about a month ago. Did you install the "arms" that go through the grill? Mine didnt really reach. For some reason my guard is a bit further out than yours. On the other hand, I would feel uncomfortable to install them even if they did reach. I feel that my grill would crack with those on, if somebody just tapped me. Did yours reach properly?

yep,

they reach just fine.

theres a trick to installing them though. you need to install the bars/arms that reach through the grille first. finger tighten it then add a slight bit of pressure to get the bottom to lock up.

two man job but everything fits nicely.

btw, dont forget to add the foam that the kit comes with to both the arms through the grill and the grille guard itself where it contacts the bumper.

Foam? I didnt get any foam...

Foam? I didnt get any foam...

shoulda been a roll of gray mounting foam that came in the kit.

you cut strips and attach to the arm bars that come through the grille and the inside part of the grille guard where it contacts your bumper. this is to ensure no scratches or chips happen on contact.

its pretty cheap to get a hold of, any hardware store or auto store should have it.

So I can just go to an auto store and find it easily? Cool. As for the grill attachments, do you recommend I add them? They dont seem to look like they provide any benefit other than keeping the guard from shaking while driving.....?

BTW, thanks for the help!

Are the headlight guards bolted on or welded on? Can they be removed from the grill guard?

Just curious, thanks

Q

they are bolted in place.

i've contemplated removing them from time to time.

we'll see what happens down the road :D

lol i'll give it some more thought. i'm not too sure if there are bolts welded on the inside of the pipes.

also havent found a suitable plug for the holes yet.
