Big dipper right in front of us, shooting stars and satellites streaking across the sky. Really cool- we may just have to camp up there. It's the farthest most remote campsite in the Cove.

And it would be more like a pocketknife fight.
Hahahahaha, you 2....one is hung like a light switch and the other a tic-tac. Sounds romantic, go easy and no bruises ok?
PS, damn right I'm jealous. Wish I could of made the trip.

By the way guys-
On the way up to campsite8 overlook (for those that were here NOT the same as the Overlook by the range) we passed by the main dumpster in the woods and heard BIG sounds running into the woods as we pulled up to dump our trash, this was just past dark.
On the way back, we approached the area slowly with the big flashlights in hand. We didn't see Goldilocks, but we did see a 300?Lb Momma black bear and her 3(!) cubs haulin back into the woods! One baby bear was hanging onto a tree on the side of the road not 10 feet from our truck.
True story- no pics to prove it though! It was [MENTION=48772]Jesse1983[/MENTION] ...Awesome.

Looks like a great group. Awesome group photo of all the rigs. Gives me the inspiration and add ons to my mod list (which at the current moment has been growing and not getting done). Also gets me thinking of planning a west coast get together (sooner rather than later). Thanks for letting us that couldn't be there live vicariously through y'all.

Sad I missed it guys...I know I had already mentally prepared myself to miss it but to miss it bc my truck has been in the shop for over a week now doesn't make it any easier

Hey folks. This is Chris W (Scott@hightech's brother w/ white 4th gen).
Just wanted to drop in and say thank you for the hospitality. That was the first time I made it up to the Cove. The place is excellent and you all are a great group! Thank you for the hospitality, ride-alongs, new firearms experienced, and great conversations.
I wish I would have went for the entire trip. Now I know for the next one that is scheduled. I think I may hang around the forum as well!
For now though, back to removing all the stinkbugs from everything I own!

And y'all wishing us a safe trip - thanks, I really had the chance to collect some good karma.
First, we helped a broken down VW (yep, electrical, of course) on i66 by the Apple House to get off the highway and limping to the next exit, and then on the way to the RV storage I had the chance to try the automotive fire extinguisher I carry -- see attached aftermath.
PSA: Those things have about three seconds worth of gas to push the fire retardant out. So choose wisely when you use one. And unlike in other situations where seconds seem like hours, here seconds seem like nanoseconds. Poof, poof. WTFBBQ? OMG! *run away*

Awesome trip fellas! Thanks to [MENTION=74912]mook21[/MENTION] I can officially say I popped the wheeling cherry. I never would have attempted the difficulty of trails without the excellent guidance. As usual, the pics don't really do the experience justice, but I have a few good shots of [MENTION=68981]jam23r1[/MENTION], [MENTION=48772]Jesse1983[/MENTION], mook21 and myself (mostly of myself) in action...I will post up over the next week as I can find the time to procrastinate at work.
I was extremely impressed with the capability of the 4Runner and the A-Trac system...paired with the Duratracs got me up, Down, over, around and through some pretty gnarly situations!
Can't wait to get out on the trails again!

Going back through these pics, I wish I had some better ones to share. I think these were on a level 4 trail (ranked 1-10). I never would have attempted anything like this without proper guidance and good spotting. I quickly learned how the major clearance limiting factor lies within the SR5 stock bumpers. Slow and steady and the proper lines got me out unscathed!
