Guess its time for tires any any ideas?

Its time to get some new tires for the truck but unsure what to get! By the time i get the tires on i will have a 5" lift 3" sup 2" bl so i was thinking of getting some LT315/75R16 and useing them on stock 16" rims i got but i read about some back spaceing so i would need a spacers i belive. As for everything else would it clear fenders and all? i dont plan to do any major off roading with this runner as i got one for that alrdy. And lasty how much bog u think it would put this with the stock gears. I read u need 4.88s
Would power loss be like running 33's on a a 4cly stock gears or 35's on stock gears? which i seem and drove both these size tires on on 4cly stock and the 35s was horrble couldnt get out of 4th gear.

and if the LT315/75R16 is to much what would be the next lowest size for 16" rims?

Dude with 3" lift + 33 or 35s on a 4CLY I would be surprised if you can make it up the mountain. These trucks don't have a very much power.

I am running 31.5" tires because I don't want to lose power.
 
yeah i know it was some dude selling the truck i test drove it he had
35 15.50s on the truck it was really slow. I had 33 12.50s on my 88 4cly stock gears i never had any problems going anywhere in it but i couldnt do over 70mph which wasnt a biggy.

My 4runner has 4:10 gears so maybe 285's would have to be cause 315s on 4:10 might not be enough lol
 
I'm running 285's and don't find a huge difference in power......I also would like to recommend Maxxis Bighorn MT's or the Procomp MT's....great tires! :)
 
hi my 99 taco i had has 31 12.50s buckshot mudders on it they look nice but was way to narrow. is the 285s narrow? i kinda like the tires that stick out somewhat past the fenders. I could probly do some spacers to make them stick out more correct?
 
If you go with 285/75-16 (33"), 305/70-16 (33") or 315/75-16 (35") you will be doing some cutting and pounding (mostly on the front wheel wells). The bigger the tire, the more work. You need to cut and pound the pinch weld, trim the rear edge of the fenders, front bumper. The 285s will need the least amount of work. The 305s and 315s will need wheel spacers or a wheel with less back spacing. The 285s may just clear without spacers. The 305 and especially the 315s should be on a wider wheel. Wider wheels, less backspacing and/or wheel spacers will cause the outer edge of the tire to take a larger arc when turning which can increase rubbing.

The 2" body lift usually is enough to eliminate the rubbing at the top of the wheel wells when stuffing tires with the 305 or 315.
 
so the these are same hights just ones wider then the other
285/75-16 (33")
305/70-16 (33")

I would like to have went with the 305's but im useing stock wheels so i dont think they would be wide enough for the 305's. And spacers would be no problem what size u think i sould get? 1.25" or 1.50"
 
Once you do find your tire size, check these guys out if you dont already know about them. Ive ran them on multiple trucks and love them. Prices are great. I would never run anything else. Even the Fedex fleet here in CO told me they run them on there trucks and never have issues.

Well just for the hell of it i went and checked out the rims. they where nice but it was'nt going to happen w/o spacers and probly alot of cutting. $600 rims on ebay for 200 would had been if only they was 16x8's :( So any way im going to stick with my stock rims an put 285/75/16s on it but the tire calls for at least 8" rim and my stocks are 7"s is that going to be a problem?
